The purpose of this role is to add skills and capacity to the team to better service key clients in form of solution conceptualization, modelling, design, and implementation of client focused distribution solutions. Furthermore, to provide project coordination, project management, commercial modelling, solution implementation, solution stabilisation and continuous improvement support.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine client service requirements by maintaining contact with client; reviewing operational environments; benchmarking best practices; analysing information and
- Continuously review and refine the solution to the
- Evaluate and analyse data and processes related to existing operations to identify improvement opportunities.
- Verify operational designs and capacity requirements for short, medium, and longer
- Execute and visualise freight flows, fleet capacity and resourcing requirements
- Compile innovative and comprehensively designed solutions using appropriate fleet and network design modelling.
- Conduct commercial modelling for contract acquisitions and renewals
- Execute and coordinate decision support modelling by quantifying alternative courses of action
- Driving “cost to serve” optimisation in the Network a dedicated fleet
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement projects with key stakeholders in the business
- Identify infrastructure and IT requirements on client and the company’s
- Working with business to improve process flows to allow for more efficient
- Improve resource utilisation and associated costs through tactical planning and
- Develop an understanding of client’s needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are
- Set clear goals and deploy strategies focused on those goals, ensuring communication to all levels in the organisation.
- Measure and share performance information with client.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in client service operations management.
- Keep abreast of industry
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team
- Prepare correspondence, presentations and reports as required
- Follow-up on correspondence and outstanding requests for resolution
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude
- Coordinate project activities and updating project plans
Minimum Qualifications
- Industrial Engineering
or Honours Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain management
Required Knowledge
- Minimum 3 – 5 years supply chain design/optimisation modelling experience in integrated logistics or supply chain environment
- Analytical Ability – Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to analyse information and processes
- Strong organisational skills – Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities
- Strategic Decision Making – Assess options and actions based on trends and conditions in the environment, and the vision and values of the organization
- Process orientated and assertive to ensure that projects are executed in accordance with established practices and safety requirements
- Project Management/Planning/Coordination experience
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills – determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, createand implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results
- Change Management skills
- Advanced Excel modelling and analytical skills
- Use of PowerBI (or such) like toolsets to manage, interpret and visualise data and information
- Experienced in the use of network or transport design and optimisation software
- Experience in structured ongoing continuous improvement function – diagnostics, value identification, solution generation, value extraction
- Experience in Sales and Operations planning will be
- Ability to translate quantitative outputs into a well-structured presentation format
- Monitoring skills – Monitoring own performance to make improvements
- Knowledge of the logistics/ distribution industry
- Flexibility to meet customer requirements
