Job Specification: Retail Manager

Location: Secunda – Mpumalanga

Qualifications:

Matric

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of retail management experience, preferably within the home improvement or construction retail sector.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

  – Proven ability to drive sales and profitability

  – Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  – Proficiency in inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems

  – Financial acumen and budget management experience

  – Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations Management: Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the store, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining store standards.

Sales and Profitability: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and profitability. Monitor and analyse sales performance, customer behaviour, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.

Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of retail associates. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge, customer service skills, and sales techniques.

Customer Service: Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times. Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively.

Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels and inventory accuracy. Conduct regular stock takes and manage replenishment orders to ensure optimal stock levels.

Merchandising: Ensure that product displays are attractive, informative, and aligned with company standards. Implement seasonal and promotional displays to maximize sales.

Financial Management: Manage the store budget, control expenses, and ensure financial targets are met. Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management.

Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Conduct regular audits and staff training to maintain a safe working environment.

Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with the local community. Participate in community events and initiatives to promote the store and its offerings.
