General Manager – Operations (Fuel & Mining): Windhoek, Namibia Ref 7083

The ideal candidate will possess strong operational expertise, financial acumen, and industrial relations (IR) experience, particularly in working with unions. (A MUST)

Qualifications:  

• Degree in Business Management, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior management role within the Fuel and Mining sectors.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in operations management, specifically in the Fuel and Mining industries.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and P&L management.
• Solid understanding of IR, with experience working with unions and handling labor disputes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and drive operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Oversee and manage all operational activities within the Fuel and Mining sectors to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, optimize resources, and drive growth.
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management to ensure the achievement of financial targets.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and government authorities.
• Handle industrial relations, including negotiations and communications with unions, ensuring smooth labor relations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance culture.
