An established and growing organisation is seeking a highly professional Legal Advisor to join its Governance team. This role is ideal for a legally qualified professional with strong regulatory and contract drafting experience within the insurance or financial services sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring legal compliance, managing contracts, supporting governance processes, and advising internal stakeholders on regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage commercial agreements, including Binder Agreements, Intermediary Agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), NDAs, and other legal documentation.
- Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance with FAIS, LTIA, FICA, FSRA, POPIA, and ECTA legislation.
- Maintain and update company governance documentation and policies, including complaints procedures, FICA manuals, and regulatory frameworks.
- Manage intermediary onboarding and compliance, including license verification, contracting, and regulatory documentation.
- Liaise with the FSCA and support regulatory audits, compliance reviews, and due diligence processes.
- Provide compliance review and sign-off on proposals, marketing material, scripts, and policy service documentation.
- Maintain accurate legal and governance records, databases, and contract renewal schedules.
- Provide internal legal guidance to departments and assist with litigation coordination and HR-related legal documentation, including disciplinary processes and CCMA preparation.
Minimum Requirements
- Legal qualification (LLB or similar) preferred.
- Experience within the insurance or financial services sector highly advantageous.
- RE5 and/or RE1 certification beneficial.
- Proven experience in legal drafting, contract management, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with FSCA regulatory frameworks and requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
