Assembly Manager – Gauteng – Manufacturing – Ref 9505

The Assembly Manager will oversee the daily operations, employees and output of the Assembly Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for safety, quality, production targets, stock control, employee development and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage daily assembly operations and production output.
• Supervise casting, assembly, packing and related manufacturing activities.
• Plan and allocate employees, materials and resources.
• Ensure that finished products meet the required quality standards.
• Ensure that products are correctly packed, labelled and prepared for dispatch.
• Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate material and production records.
• Manage, coach and develop employees within the department.
• Monitor departmental performance and report on monthly targets.
• Drive operational excellence and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, health and safety, PPE and housekeeping requirements.

Minimum requirements:

• Matric with Mathematics and English.
• N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Minimum of five years’ production experience within the plastics manufacturing industry, preferably injection moulding.
• Minimum of five years’ supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with Takt time and one-piece-flow manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and 6S principles.
• Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification or experience.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• A Supervisory Management Certificate will be advantageous.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime or extended hours when required.

Salary offered : R45k
